Description: A Dutch Elm disease resistant variety that closely resembles the classic American Elm look with an upright vase shape canopy full of strong branches and open canopy. Perfect as a street shade tree in a space with lots of room to grow. 

Ornamental Features: Rich green leaves with serrate margins that turn vibrant yellow in the fall. Smooth and grey bark as a juvenile that gains ridges with age. Flowers are insignificant and emerge before spring leaves. The fruit is a small round samara. Canopy maintains a high clearance above ground. 

Planting & Growing: Do not plant under power lines or close to structures. Very hardy and adaptable. Best pruned in late winter once threat of extreme cold has passed. Under ideal conditions and properly cared for, can live for 70 years. Adapts well to dry and moist locations. It is not particular as to soil type or pH, and is able to handle environmental salt. Resistant to Dutch Elm disease and phloem necrosis.
